Value, tutors & results
Parents often ask about value for money and results. This section explains how Mint Maths compares to tutoring, how it can complement a tutor, and why it's a smart investment for families.
Yes. Mint offers high‑quality teaching for a fraction of weekly tutor costs. We provide continuous, structured, and expert-written support 24/7, without the scheduling stress or financial strain of traditional weekly tutoring fees.
Both. Many students prefer the independence and teaching style of Mint, not needing a tutor; others feel they benefit from some face-to-face interaction. If you use both, Mint can handle the heavy lifting of teaching and explanations, and expensive tutor time can then focus on confidence‑building and fine‑tuning.
Yes. The teaching methods and materials used in Mint are based on strategies we’ve used to successfully guided hundreds of students through their exams. In a monitored trial, consistent use of Mint helped one academy improve results significantly, moving over 50 places in national rankings.
Curriculum, accessibility & supportive teaching
Mint is built for the Scottish Higher Maths course, with accessibility, supportive teaching and innovation at its heart. Here's how we stay aligned with the exam and make sure dyslexic and diverse learners experience equal access to clear, stress-free learning.
Yes. Mint Maths is written by experienced SQA teachers (who know the exam inside out!) and every chapter, topic, and practice question is fully mapped to the current SQA course specification. *SQA will become Qualifications Scotland in December 2025, but the 2025–2026 exam diet remains unchanged. Mint will update immediately if changes occur.
Yes. Designed as an accessible platform for dyslexic students and diverse learners, it uses clear fonts, colours, and layouts, and no distractions. We are the first to remove italics from formulas, making complex notation easier to read. This unique feature helps everyone focus on learning, not overcoming extra barriers.
Most sites are essentially digital revision sheets, testing your existing knowledge. Mint is different; it’s fundamentally a teaching curriculum. Starting with a blank slate, we guide you step-by-step, from core concepts to real, lasting, understanding. Because we know, once you understand something, you can’t unlearn it.
